I can't believe it but we've had a major Tara sighting in the blog. After 756 posts and almost four years of mild tales this week marks the first time that Tara has: 1) posted three times in a row and 2) more posts for a month than I do.
It's an interesting mix to share a blog with your partner. So far I have way more posts, but she dominates the comments. I can attribute this to one of two things: 1) she writes about more interesting topics (namely Kennedy, Alex, or Dylan) or 2) Mommy Blogging Syndrome - the mommy bloggers stick together. Either way I'm happy to see Tara is an active contributer to the blog and I can't wait to read all the comments she gets about three posts in a row.

Almost Spring
It's been really warm the past couple of days (almost 70 yesterday), so we have been trying to enjoy it, knowing that it will end soon. Yesterday, we spent some time at a park with some neighbor kids. It was so much fun to get outside and let the kids loose. We went for a walk around the park, Alex had a blast on the playground, Kennedy loved playing with her friends and Dylan slept!
After the playground, Kennedy had a couple of friends over to play. It was just a nice day to play outside and enjoy the sun.
Today was supposed to be just as warm, with a little wind. So I packed up the kids and some old bread I've been saving and off we went to Wheeler Farm to feed the ducks. I wasn't quite prepared for the hurricane that we encountered at the farm. We survived for about a half hour and after Kennedy freaked out when a goose honked at her, it was time to go. We did enjoy seeing the baby lambs at least! So much for another fun day outside. We'll just have to wait for the next nice day to use the rest of our old bread.

Dylan at 2 weeks old
Dylan had his 2 week check-up a couple of days ago and he is doing great. He weighed in at 9 pounds even, 21 5/8 inches long and very healthy. He's turning into quite the little eater and might rival Kennedy in weight at the same age. (She weighed 14 pounds at 2 months). Dylan is really a great baby and has really been a blessing in our lives.
So far the adjustment to three kids hasn't been too bad. I just can't go anywhere! We are definitely excited for spring to come, so we can play outside and get out of the house.
Kennedy and Alex seem to be adjusting pretty well to the new little one who takes more of my time. Alex did get mad once a couple of days ago when I told him he would have to wait for me to get him a drink until I finished feeding Dylan. He said, "no, no baby Dylan, me!" I'm sure we will have some fun moments in the future, but as for right now, this three kid thing is going okay!

My mom, the cleaning lady
My mom spent a few days with us last week and my house has never been so clean. My mom likes to clean, do laundry, sweep, etc. Not sure why I didn't pick up this habit from her, but I hate cleaning. Don't get me wrong, I keep my house pretty clean (as much as possible with three little ones). I can't go to bed until everything is picked up, dishes are done and the floor is swept, but my mom, now she knows how to clean. My blinds and windows are spotless, the dust bunnies that hide in every corner on our hardwood floor had no chance with my mom in town, and my laundry is done. Cupboards have been scrubbed, inside and out and my house is looking pretty good. Give the kids a couple of hours and it will be back to normal!
In between the cleaning, my mom spent lots of time with the kids, and couldn't get enough of little Dylan. We played outside, went for walks and just really enjoyed the time my mom spent with us. Kennedy and Alex were sad when she left. Kennedy kept asking Grandma how many more sleepovers she was going to have at our house and wouldn't let her leave until she had made her famous homemade macaroni and cheese. I was also sad when she left. It meant I would be alone with all three little ones for the first time since Dylan was born. I knew I could do it and would be okay, but there is just something so comforting having your mom around to help and talk to and ask for advice. Thanks mom, for your help and just being there for our little family.
