I don't know what it is about this time of year, but it seems like everyone wants to get together right now. A few days ago I was on the Deseret News homepage and came across a section on missionary reunions. Naturally I was interested in whether or not my mission would have a get together, but I was disappointed to find that nothing was planned. I did find out that my mission has a new website and a new location. The Philippines Cabanatuan Mission officially died a few years ago and now it's the Philippines Angeles Mission - wow! The only reunion I could attend is a general Philippines mission reunion on Sunday evening, but I don't think I'm interested in hanging out in church with a bunch of people I don't know. I can do that anytime I walk into a random church on a Sunday!
I did have a mini-reunion with some of my friends from my Masters' program yesterday. It was fun to see who's gotten fat (me), who's gotten bald (Ford), who's gotten a kid (Jana), and who's gotten sick of all our jokes (Jill). It seems like yesterday I was plugging away in class every Tues. and Thurs., but it's been almost two years since I actually finished my Masters. How time flies!

Basektball, Anyone?

I think the Covili family has had enough of March Madness and basketball. The look on Kennedy's face pretty much sums up the entire evening. The Jazz/Hornets game didn't go so well for us. Kennedy decided that she had no interest in meeting any of the Jazz players-she just wanted to run out on the court while they were warming up. Since that was out of the question, we ended up doing several laps around the Delta Center before the game started.
Once the game started, she was pretty good, but just tired. So we only made it half way through the second quarter. The Jazz were losing at the time, so we didn't feel too bad. (They ended up winning by 24). At least we made it home to watch the last half of "The Apprentice".Besides the Jazz game, we have been watching our NCAA tournament brackets go down the drain. Name one person that picked GMU to go to the final four and I won't feel so bad. Anyway, my only goal was to not take last place in my pool, but I managed to do it. I guess Villanova wasn't so great of a pick. At least they made it further than Duke.
To top it off, about a month ago, I was called to be the Region Young Women's/Women's Sports Director. Not such a bad calling for me, but then they informed me that I had to organize a basketball tournament for 16 YW teams and 4 women's teams within 10 days of receiving the calling and without an assistant. My 4 years with Salt Lake County Parks and Rec came in handy, and the tournament was a success, but not without a lot of help from some very willing people in our region. I was even able to play on our stake women's team in the tournament. Too bad we were horrible and lost every game, but we had fun anyway. I was gone so much that Kennedy started saying "bye bye, mommy" more than she said "bye bye daddy". That's when you know you are gone a lot. So needless to say I am done with basketball, at least for a little while.

And the Wall Came Down
Any of you who remember the Traveling Wilburies may recall the classic lyric, "and the walls came down, all the way to Hell, never saw them when they're standing, never saw them when they fell." That song's a nice segway into our weekend activity. We tore down our fence on Saturday. Yes, it's the fence I wrote about a couple days ago. Our neighbor has decided that she wants to go ahead with the project, with one minor alteration: it's going to be a cedar fence. I guess I should be happy, since I complained so much about white viynl - now I am getting a cedar fence.

500 Caches
I know that some of you are tired of reading about our exploits in geocaching. I know it's boring, but that's who we are and you're the one reading our blog. Anyway, earlier today I was setting up for a GPS class I'm teaching tomorrow and it gave me a chance to find a few caches. Tara and I have been stuck on 491 caches for about a month, with bad weather and bad attitudes being the chief causes for our lethargy. Today the sun was shining and life was good, so I went out and found the last few caches we needed to make the 500 cache milestone. Hooray for us!!!
