On the Road Again

We set out today for a road trip to visit my parents in New Harmony. Those of you with infants know that the best part of a long car trip is that the baby usually sleeps most of the way. I say usually because, for some reason, Kennedy decided that this was not going to be a sleeping trip. The trip to my parents is 250 miles, Kennedy stayed awake for the first 200 of those miles. Nothing could get her to sleep, not the bottle, not her blankie, not even her Mama could help little Kennedy rest her tired eyes.

Today we saw three distinct sides to Kennedy's personality. There was the talkative Kennedy, where she babbled for miles at a time about whatevercwas on her mind. Next, there was the Hungry Kennedy, where she ate crackers, vanilla wafers, drank a bottle, and ate a strap on her car seat. Last, and worst, was the Angry Kennedy, where she cried and whined about anything and everything. I won't say which personality we saw the most on the trip today, but let's just say it was a welcome sight to see her fourth personality - Sleeping Kennedy!

How the Mighty (sort of) have Fallen

Some things are too good to pass by. As I was walking into the office I spotted this little gem on the wall. It seems that Quiet Riot and Skid Row are coming - to the Union Ballroom!!! Forget those sold out stadiums, full of groupies and thousands of head banging fans. Now these 80's hair bands will be playing to a smattering of Utah students, a few of which may be wearing stonewashed denim jackets. The best part of the poster is that the concert is free to all U of U students. I wish I was still in school!!!

Does this remind anyone of the scene in Spinal Tap where the boys share a marquee with a puppet show? "If I've told them once I've told them a thousand times... We are supposed to have top billing over the puppet show!"

Utah 41 BYU 34

Can you believe it?! The Utes capped off an up and down season with an up and down game against the Cougs. However, unlike much of the season, this game ended on a major up. The Utes held on to win their final game in OT down in Happy Valley. I can't think of anything more satisfying than beating BYU for the 4th straight time, and doing it with a backup QB, a first year coach, in LaVell Edwards Stadium. Awesome!! All week long the talk radio airwaves have been lit up with Cougarfan running his mouth about how great their team was. Well BYU, your heritage is calling - and it still says you guys suck! Last year may have been once in a lifetime for the Utes, but we've still got the braggin' rights for another year over that team from the South. Now buck up Cougarfan and could someone, anyone, please give John Beck a Kleenex!!!

400 Caches for the Crew

I know I write too often in here about Geocaching; however, it has been a beautiful Autumn here in SLC, and it forces us to be outside. We found our 400th cache yesterday, while I was out with Ross after work. He wanted to find Coleton's cache, and I wanted to reach a milestone. We were both successful! Hooray!!

Holy War

Another classic bulletin on the cork boards at the U. Poor little Cosmo didn't stand a chance in this ad. Win or lose, you've gotta love the creativity of U students. Anyone want to go to the Cougar Bash? Classic!
