Get My Best Side

This afternoon Tara, Kennedy, and I were filmed for a commerical on local television. UEN runs Utah's education channel, KUEN or channel 9 in SLC, and one of the current ad campaigns centers around life long learning. We were asked if we would be interested in being part of a commercial focusing on geocaching and GPS. Not having any better offers from our agent, we agreed.

So, we loaded up with all the supplies for the shoot and headed out to East Canyon to film. For the first part of the commerical Joey (the producer) asked us various questions about geocaching and how we got involved. I don't know if we said anything profound, but I'm pretty sure we weren't blatantly misleading about anything in particular. Like always, Kennedy was the star of the interview. She jabbered on and on when she knew the camera was rolling. After the interview, there were several shots of Tara and I hiking up and down trails with Kennedy in the backpack. We would look at the GPS, point a given direction, and then walk down the trail. Eventually we found a geocache (I won't mention that we brought the cache with us). It was a fun day and I think it will be a great momento from this period of our lives. Let's see if we become stars from our first commerical together. If anyone's interested in booking us for a gig - give us a call, we'll do lunch.

Colonel Shuffle

Kennedy finally figured it all out. I'm not talking about world peace or why Jen and Brad split up - we're talking about crawling. I know, I know - I shouldn't be excited that she has become mobile. I've heard it all before. No rest, always trying to figure out where they are and what they're up to. All that being said - isn't it exciting when your child finally accomplishes something that she's been trying to do for months. I think that's cause for celebration. Even if it isn't a speed crawl (it's more of a shuffle), it is still her first successful self-propelled movement. Hooray!!

Daddy/Daughter Night III

Kennedy and I went to visit Brant, Kerrin, and their new arrival, Madison Kimberly Paulsen. Madison arrived yesterday at 1:45pm, weighing 7 lbs. 1 oz. and 20 in. long. What a cutie!!! It was so fun to go to the hospital and watch Kennedy try to figure out how to deal with a new baby. I think she was a little disappointed that another baby was stealing her thunder. A diva always needs the spotlight! Congratulations Brant and Kerrin!!

Did you know that Brant's wife had the baby yesterday.

Oh yeah. I heard about it last night.

And when were you planning to tell me that one my best friends became a father.

Well it kinda slipped my mind. I meant to tell you.

Is there anything else I am supposed to know that's slipped your mind.

No, your friend becoming a father is about it.

All Aboard!

Tonight we went to a great geocaching event up in Farmington. I know we haven't discussed caching much in this blog, but trust me - it takes up a decent amount of our free time. This event brought together several of our friends that are involved in the activity. Just to mention a few names: minerals44, Fire Elemental, Lockjaw, Sir Gerald, lyonden_ut, dutch1, and ruaniteit. Can you believe these names?! I guess I shouldn't say much since we're called crimson_crew and we were with Micro Man!! We have had a lot of fun over the summer trying to stump many of these people with our hides and being stumped, in turn, as we've tried to find some of their caches. It's all part of the fun.
